With over 30 years’ experience working in education, Steph is currently Co-Director and Programme Director at Newcastle University Educational Leadership Centre.
Having been a teacher and leader in secondary schools for 23 years, she then moved into leadership training and teacher development, working with local authorities in the North East before moving into the HE sector. She is an executive coach and experienced facilitator, with a particular interest in helping school leaders to develop their practice through practical application of leadership theory. Steph has conducted research projects into raising boys’ achievement and successful educational practice in disadvantaged communities, and is experienced in working with senior leadership teams to build capacity and think strategically to solve those wicked problems.
She has worked on large educational projects such as the Early Career Framework and NPQs, involving building national partnerships and cross organisational collaboration. She is an experienced writer and programme developer, with a particular love for facilitation and delivery – once a teacher, always a teacher!
We are excited that Steph is a key part of the Tandem team as an Executive Coach.
